A craft since 1734

The noble metal, rediscovered.

Once called "the silver of the common man" — today pewter is returning to the finest tables of upscale dining. The Federal Association unites the master workshops that keep this craft alive.

The Craft

A craft since 1734.

Pewter casting is a craft with a rich history stretching far back before the industrial age. Our oldest member has operated continuously in one family line since 1734 — a living testament to artisanal continuity.

Pewter is food-safe, fully recyclable and timeless in its aesthetic. Driven by growing environmental awareness and the fine-dining world's appetite for authentic materials, the metal is experiencing a renaissance — hand-cast, mirror-polished and individually refined.
